Life doesn't always align with our expectations. I am here to offer a supportive, validating presence to help you reflect on your journey without judgment.

Hello, I’m Melanie. I’m a warm, person-centered therapist who offers a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore whatever you’re going through, at your own pace. I have specialist training in bereavement and in supporting those who have experienced domestic abuse and violence. I also work sensitively with women navigating mid-life changes, including the emotional and psychological impact of menopause.
I have over 12 years’ experience as a counsellor, alongside a background in senior leadership within therapeutic services. I currently work as Clinical Director at a women’s therapy centre, supporting minoritised women and those with lived experience of domestic and sexual abuse and intimate partner violence.

Alongside this, I have worked with students with Specific Learning Difficulties and within the leaving-care sector, which has helped me develop a deep appreciation of how early experiences, transitions, and life challenges can shape emotional wellbeing.
I am deeply committed to making therapy accessible and inclusive. Much of my work has been within the non-profit sector, creating supportive, trauma-informed spaces for people living with loss, trauma, and complex life experiences. My practice is grounded in warmth, gentle curiosity, and a belief in your right and capacity to heal and to find a way forward that feels right for you.
Choosing to work therapeutically with me means we build a relationship where you feel sufficiently safe to trust both me and the therapeutic process. By expressing what brings you to therapy and identifying the obstacles that hinder you from being your true self, we can address the discomfort
and conflict that may be present in wanting to simply be YOU, helping you
to live authentically and unapologetically.
Often, life doesn't align with the
daydreams of our childhood and early adulthood. The conditioning from family, culture, and society can be a stark contrast when adulthood arrives. Many things require planning, flexibility, and viewing mistakes as opportunities to 'fail forward'.
Hopefully, this will help you to let go of any guilt, shame and the
expectations of others, simply coming to terms with the YOU that you've
recognized yourself to be now and to develop the courage to make changes
you feel necessary to be the YOU that YOU want to be.
Therapy provides a space to reflect on your past seasons, understand who you are now, and identify what you need to feel comfortably grounded in yourself. Dedicating and committing time for hope, healing and wholeness is a revolutionary act.

I am based in North London, but I work primarily with clients remotely. This allows me to offer counselling to individuals across London and the UK from the comfort of their own homes.
I offer online video sessions (via Zoom or VSee - a secure portal for therapy sessions). Telephone counselling depends on suitability and this can be discussed during the consultation.
Feel free to contact me via the secure contact form if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment. This first step enables us to discuss your needs and decide if I am the right therapist to help you.
Please use the form to get in touch, and if you would prefer a phone conversation, just let me know, and we can arrange a time to talk.
All enquiries are usually answered within 48 hours. All contact is strictly confidential.
